Bob's Blah Blog

Ok, here we go again. Let's see... Oh, yeah, on our trip here, as we passed thru the Port of Entry, I mean departure from AZ to CA, we heard something like dragging on the ground. No, it wasn't Corinne's feet refusing to leave Arizona, it was a piece of metal strip off the underside of the See Ya coach that came loose for some no good reason and was wearing itself down to a nub. Why it came off, I don't know. It was dragging on the ground and making noise. It wasn't my fault, it wasn't Corinne's fault, it was the asphalt. hehe. Anyway, I pulled out the one remaining screw holding it to the coach and put it in the back of the truck. Always something.

Now, back to real time. Everything that can go wrong has happened this week. Matter of fact, and of record, I was about ready to come home a couple of days ago and kick some serious "arse" with the trouble makers. Dish network still hadn't reshipped our Dish receiver that was mistakenly returned to them, even tho they said it would be redelivered the next day. Nationwide Retirement Solutions (our deferred compensation account) wouldn't release our money and wouldn't call us back. I left voice mail numbers on one machine, gave my number to a peon another time...but could anyone call me back??? NO!, although the guy who I left my number on his answering machine did call me back, but not on my cell phone, not on Corinne's cell phone, but on our home phone. Like I can really answer the phone at home from California. I got his cell phone number the next day and called him, having to leave him a voice mail, again, with my cell phone number, again, and waited, again. Nobody ever called me back. I next called the coporate office in Ohio and got someone on the ball there....at least they called me back. They hadn't received our paperwork there because it had only been sent to the Arizona office 7 - 9 weeks earlier. I guess two months just isn't time enough to put a stamp on the evelope and mail it to Ohio. Finally, when I asked what federal regulatory agency governed their business did I get some relief...meaning, AZ sent our paperwork to OH. But, not the amount we had specified. They sent all our money to Ohio. Don't ever do business with Nationwide Retirement Solutions. They are morons. But alas, we may have our first check by September...if someone else doesn't screw it up. I still have plans to complain to the Az Dept. of Insurance and the Regional Manager for the AZ office of NRS.

The next big problem was getting this computer I am writing on to work. It would work one day, but not the next. Then it worked the day after but not the day after that. Then it would work the day after the day it worked following the day it didn't work and so on. We spent hours on the phone with Verizon techincal staff trying to fix the problem. Finally, I told you-know-who we were going to go to a Verizon store and get it fixed. So we did. However.... at the store we went to they had no technician. They did tell us where to go, and it wasn't to hell, either, although I thought about telling them that myself. At the store with a technician, he wasn't trained to fix this type of problem, but was more than willing to let us use a phone to call a real technician, which we did. About less than a hour later, Corinne got the connection set up and now we have internet access via her cell phone and a tether to the computer, except when we don't have a strong signal from Verizon in Walnut Grove. Did I tell you about the first month of service FREE gambit? Well, don't believe it. When I looked at our most recent bill, there were two charges for the monthly internet access service. One for $4 and the other for $15, taking us all the way to August 10. I called Verizon, as I am prone to do, and asked why. I got put on hold for a really long time only to be told much later they had no such promotion and I should go back to the store where we signed up and have them explain. Right, I'll get right to that as soon as I get back to Phoenix in NOVEMBER!!!, YOU MORON!!!! Guess I won't be getting no month free will I? I explained they were giving the month free because it takes that long to get the thing set up to use. No sympathy from them. Dang.

Now, also on our way up, a check engine light came on and stayed on. I read the owner's manual and it gave me three possible causes. 1) Water in the fuel; 2) Out of fuel; 3) Fuel cap not on tight. It wasn't out of fuel because the gauge said so, I don't know about water in the fuel, and the cap was on tight. I took the truck to a Ford dealer for an oil change and had them check the engine light. They said I had a bad glo-plug relay something or other going bad and would have to order one. This was on Monday. They said they would have the part on Tuesday, but they didn't. I called on Wednesday, but they didn't have it still. On Thursday the service guy was sick and I didn't call anyways, but they did call me about missing an appointment on the 17th which I never made. Anyway, on Friday, I called and the part was in. I went, they installed and I drove away. Took all but a few minutes...fact is, I was still on hold with Verizon when the service was done.

Now, back to Dish Network. After repeatedly calling, I was told they were going to airmail me a new receiver and I should have it no later than today (Saturday). As of 1:30 pm it was still a no show. They also told me a supervisor would call me today (Saturday) to verify whether I received the receiver or didn't receive the receiver. No phone call received as of 4 pm. Wanna guess if they are going to call or not?? I am thinking about getting Direct TV when I get home.

Hey, there's a guy wearing a green t-shirt coming towards the Library. I wonder why.

For all you interested in how I am doing with my hair, its getting sooo long. I will be putting it into rubberbands in no time. I think I am going to let my mustache grow long so I have whiskers like a walrus, too. Should be fun. Corinne is very supportive of me. She may even let me get a pierced ear too, although, I would rather just superglue an earring to my ear just to try it out.

I guess thats all for now.
